At St Albans Endoscopy Centre, our mission is to improve the health and quality of life for all of our patients by providing a professional, high quality, accessible and affordable endoscopy and gastroenterology service with a positive patient experience.

Our focus is on your digestive health and we are committed to offering all patients quality investigative procedures and specialist consultations to assist in the early detection of conditions such as Bowel Cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Colitis and Reflux. 

The centre is a registered Day Procedure Centre with the Department of Health and is fully accredited with NSQHS standards. In addition to this, our warm and friendly team consists of highly qualified, professional gastroenterologists, anaesthetists, nurses, technicians and administrative staff offering the best in both expertise and positive patient care.

Patient Information

Appointments

To make an appointment, contact the centre on (03) 9364 0033. The receptionist will either book you in for a consultation or a procedure.

To allow time to complete any required forms before your appointment, please arrive:

  • 10-15 minutes before your appointment for CONSULTATIONS
  • 30-45 minutes before your appointment for PROCEDURES

For all appointments please being:

  • Referral letter from your Doctor
  • All medications that you are taking
  • All other relevant information, such as hospital discharge papers
  • Medicare Card (Please inform staff when booking if you have no Medicare card, Interim Card or Reciprocal Card)
  • Private Insurance Card (if applicable)
  • Pensioner/Health Care Card (if applicable)
  • Repatriation (DVA) Card (if applicable)
  • Account Payment (St Albans Endoscopy Centre accepts Cash, EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa to facilitate easy payment of accounts on the day)


SMS Appointment Reminders

St Albans Endoscopy Centre sends SMS appointment reminders at least 48 hours prior to any appointment. When you receive this message, please call the centre to confirm your appointment.

Cancelling an Appointment

Please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your appointment if you wish to cancel. An alternative time can be arranged when calling. Calling ahead to cancel allows us to offer your time to another patient. If you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, or do not show for your appointment, then you may be charged a cancellation fee.

Results

All patients who attend for a procedure, will receive a coloured copy of the report to take home with them. A copy of this report will also get faxed to the referring doctor on the day, and any biopsy results will get sent to the referring doctor electronically as soon as it becomes available. As biopsy results can take a few days, it is recommended that patients wait at least a week following their procedure before making an appointment to see their GP.

Patient Fees

At St Albans Endoscopy Centre, endoscopic procedures will incur a small Hospital Fee that will need to be paid and is not covered by Medicare. When you make an appointment, the reception staff will inform you about the expected fees and charges.

Consultations

Payments are to be paid in full on the day of the procedure and be can be made at the centre via cash, EFTPOS, Mastercard or Visa.

Refer a Patient

If you wish to refer a patient, please print and complete the “PATIENT REFERAL” form and fax it to (03) 9367 7432. Our friendly reception staff will contact the patient to organise an appointment time.

If you wish to book a patient in urgently, please call us on (03) 9364 0033 and one of the reception staff will be able to assist you with scheduling an appointment.

At St Albans Endoscopy Centre we value your opinion and want to ensure that everyone’s experience is a positive one. If you wish to leave feedback, you can do so in one of three ways:

Feel free to discuss your feedback directly with the staff. This could include a reception staff, a staff involved in your care or a more senior staff member.

You can call the centre on (03) 9364 0033 and ask to speak to a manager to discuss any feedback that you may have.
